Unpublished MADE IN CHINA work

Here on my new website you can now also see the project MADE IN CHINA, for which I spent three months at the Three Shadows Photography Art Center in Beijing in 2009.

I dived into my archive and came across previously unpublished photos. These didn’t make it to the project’s 2011 book, designed by Sybren Kuiper, but are still worth checking out.
Wim van Sinderen interviewed me about the project in 2010, that interview ended up in the book, as did a still very nice text about the work by Hripsimé Visser.

At the time this project was a turning point for my oeuvre. In China I experimented more than before and started to combine different genres and techniques. And the projects Collected Memory (2011 – 2017) and Profile Pictures (2009 -2011) emerged from it.
